I have had this same setup for approx 4 years and only recently started having issues.

I have a Vonage line coming into a single VIC2-2FXO and this module is inserted into a NM-HD-2V, which is in turn installed into my 2811 router.

Im not running CME as I have CM 4.0 running (I know, its really old and I should upgrade, just have not gotten around to it).

I have the public phone number that I get from Vonage plar'd to the CM which then distributes the number out as a shared line appearance on several 7960 IP phones throughout my house.

This setup worked fine for the last several years.

What changed?

I recently moved to NY - therefore I have a new local Vonage provider. However, I kept my existing Vonage box with my existing phone number - so, the only change there is my new local Vonage provider.

Additionally, I added a new/second phone number from Vonage. So, now I have 2 distinct/separate Vonage modems, each plugeed into one of the two FXO ports. I have replicated my 2811 configuration to support the new phone line and added the new line into my CM.

On several phones in the house, I have both numbers present as separate line appearances.

Here is the problem. Quite often, (>50% of the time), a call will come in on the original/old phone line. It rings all the IP Phones as it should. As soon as someone goes offhook on that call (regardless of which IP Phone is being used), the call "appears" to disconnect. If the user goes back onhook, after a delay of about 2 seconds, the call will again ring in and we can complete the call. I say "appears", because from the incoming calling party's perspective, the call is simply continuously ringing - there is no answer/disconnect/answer.

Im guessing that the problem is in my FXO port configuration on my 2811, but I dont have enough experience with FXO to know for sure.

Relevant config is below:

voice-port 1/0/0
connection plar opx <phone number line 1>
 caller-id enable
!
voice-port 1/0/1
connection plar opx <phone number line 2>
 caller-id enable
!

Im going to take my second line out of the router today and then run a series of test calls to see if the second line is the cause of the problem

Anyone have any insight?

Jeff
