[cisco-voip] 3.5 mm audio jacks on 797x series phones

Did you add the powercube to a POE powered phone or add Ethernet to a phone being powered by a cube?

I believe phones won't switch between power when booted. So try unplugging the Ethernet and plugging it back in.

I tried that and unfortunately it didn't make a difference.
Thanks

Using inline power, the Cisco IP Phone 797X disables the external audio stuff. Try plugging in a powercube.

The audio preferences are greyed out on the phone and I haven't found anything in CM that I could change that would affect that.

I agree that the options are likely discontinued.

Thanks for the input

Do you see anything in the phone menu's? Back in the 4.x days there was phone menu options. I'm guessing if those are gone... it has been completely discontinued.

Does anyone have experience using the 3.5 mm audio jacks on 797x series
phones?
I've connected external powered speakers, but I cannot get audio to be
output through them. I found mention, in archives of this list, of this
feature possibly being discontinued, but was hoping someone could
confirm if I am out of luck.

Running CUCM 7.1.3. here

Thanks

Fred
