The OVAs do not specify whether to use Thin or Thick and you are prompted to choose one option.

Also, the one to one CPU mapping / affinity is not included OVA and has to be manually set in Options -> Advanced CPU.

when vmware has to grow the disk performance takes a significant hit. I believe the OVI files specify disk parameters. They should not be thin provisioned.

Hi All,

What are peoples thoughts on using thin provisioned disk within ESXi for a production UC system?

B Series UCS with ESXi 4.1 booting from DAS. UC apps booting from SAN.

Any issues with using Thin provisioned disk within ESXi? can't find anything on if its supported or not or causes performance problems.

cheers,

Dan
