That's not the issue here. I was also able to patch from 8.0.4 to 8.5.4 post-install as well.

If you were able to upgrade on install for other applications but CUPS happens to take a dive on install wouldn't that concern you a little bit?

Paul,

I just did a brand new install for 8.5.4, and it works perfectly !!!
also still no isues after the upgrade from 8.0.4 to 8.5.4. on another system (UCS C210)
I was not able to do it with a patch during install. but why not perform the patch after postinstall.
