[cisco-voip] Shoretel

I currently run a platform from the company 4PSA.com call VoIPNOW 4Grid
which has an Asterisk media core full Class 5 features. It is somewhat
redundant but has several know issues all related to Asterisk. I would not
suggest using anything Asterisk based for the enterprise or carrier level at
this point.
We are moving to 2600hz.com / Whistle platform to replace our hosted Class 5
and Class 4 wholesale services. Whistle is OpenSIP/FREESwitch at the core
with a fantastic API and module approach to PBX needs which is a LOT more
scalable with wonderful redundancy and load balancing models built in.

Has Asterisk made it to enterprise level yet? Capacity, admin interface,
redundancy?

Shoretel looks like a repackaged version of Nortel IP phones…but a different
controller…..takes about 80kb of b/w for the phone (overhead included)
Ive only dealt with ONE Shoretel but I was impressed!

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew much about Shoretel’s VOIP system as
compared with Cisco’s? Any good documentation/points would be greatly
appreciated.
Regards,
Bill
