[cisco-voip] IP Communicator Stops working

I have an telecommuter that is running windows 7, 64-bit and we have
installed IP Communicator 8.6.

unfortunately every time you try to start it, audio tuning wizard stops
working, followed by ip communicator stopped working.

Any ideas?

I've uninstalled AV,  uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted multiple times.

I've had issues before, but this one has me a little stumped.  Any words of
wisdom?
