Another option would be to check for disk errors on the server. Maybe you have some bad sectors in it?

I thought about it, from the error though I wasn't sure if that file
was what caused the error or if it just happened to be the one at the
end of the file by coincidence. Guess it couldn't hurt. I did try
restarting TFTP services.
