[cisco-voip] MWI over SIP Unity Connection

The only thing that setting UpdateDisplay to yes on a Unity server
changes is that it will send an MWI-on message for each new voicemail
that arrives, rather than just the first new message. If you are not
getting a message indicator for even the first message received right
now, getting UCxn to send more MWI messages out isn't likely to help.

That said, if all you need is similar functionality to that setting,
then you should be able to achieve that with the "Send Message Counts"
checkbox on the Phone System page. That will make UC send out an
MWI-on for each new message, but it will also cause UC to include the
actual count of messages in the SIP Notify message. That feature is
intended for use with the 99xx and 89xx series phones that support
that, so I'm not sure whether CUCM would forward it to a third party
SIP device.
