In Connection, there are two separate features...message notification and message delivery. You can enable both if you like.

Matt (or anyone else who cares to chime in),

Will the message notification actually deliver a copy of the .WAV file? I was under the impression that it would deliver a notification that you have a message but not deliver the actual message. I know the IMAP functionality requires a specific feature license, but I understood that if you want the actual recording delivered you had to set up the UConn server for IMAP, configure the correct CoS for the user to allow IMAP for that user, and then configure the user’s client device as an IMAP client to connect to UConn.

Thanks,

Unity Connection.
So dumb question, I tried entering my mailserver name as a smart host, and I tried using smtp.comcast.net as a smart host. Set the voicemail to Relay. Both times, I get a receipt in my voicemail box, error code 500, that the message could not be delivered.

I guess I don't understand enough about smarthosts!

Anyone else?

Unity or Unity Connection?

In regular unity you’d have to be in UM Mode, In UCxN, setup a smart host under SMTP and then in message actions for each users either accept and relay (keep copy on server) or just relay the message.

Unity 8.

I saw someone do this, when a person gets a call, the call is converted to wav then sent to their email.

I can't seem to find where to do this in Unity.

Caveats:

the domain listed in Unity (VMAIL-001) is not the email domain that I would use.
My email server requires SMTP authentication (username and password).

I am pretty sure it can be done (we did it in 6 I think, but I can't find the right settings in 8).

Thanks anyone
