The upgrade of your data happens when you run the upgrade. The switchover is when you start to use the upgrade.

yeah, i'm not sure i'm clear on the config freeze part of it. i thought the switch version is where the data was migrated over. i can understand a config freeze _during_ the installation and _during_ the switchover, but if i apply the upgrades on a monday and can only upgrade on the saturday morning, does that mean i can't apply changes throughout the week?

Yes, make sure there's a config freeze. Install on all servers, switch version sequentially. Wait for the new db to be sync.

i'm apply cucm v7.1.5b.SU3 patch to v7.1.5b.SU2. this will be a delayed upgrade, so upgrade first, then switch version later.

is the order important when installing the upgrades as well or just the switch version?

i mean, i'll upgrade the publisher first, but can i do all the subs after that at once, including the tftp server? can i even install the upgrades on ALL servers at once, just making sure i do the switch version in the correct order?
