[cisco-voip] Cisco Spares for Phones

DLU packs are purchased separately from phones now, they're not tied to any particular model. When you run out of DLUs, you buy more. The smallest DLU pack is 10, and the average phone takes 3 or 4, so you'll find yourself buying more DLUs.

Of course this all goes away with user based licensing.

But again, with DLUs, if I bought a "spare",then I would lose some DLUs. is that it? It kind of makes sense, if you have spare DLUs, you can get a "spare", if you're short on DLUs, buy a "licensed" version....

It's a software check that Cisco has. There is no difference in the products. I'm guessing they've moved from using the equal sign to the spare keyword.

If this is a brand new extension being added, does it have to be a G? I never understood the whole "spare" thing, maybe someone can help me to figure it out!
