Check the hard drive. If it's the same model then the firmware update should work and it could be susceptible to the problem reported on the I4s. I don't believe the 7816I3 uses the same hard drive from the I4 but that doesn't mean your server hasn't acquired one along the way.

Anyone run into this issue on a 7816I3?

I am aware of this issue with firmware version on the I4 model servers
(bug id CSCti52867) and the document on fixing that with the disk
exerciser, firmware update CD, etc. I am not finding anything for this
on the 7816I3 model server and am trying to find cause why this
happened on this server. Server was running fine and did this after
being up awhile, not a restart/etc. Working with TAC but they haven't
come up with anything yet either. We have rebooted the server and
everything is good at moment. CUCM version is 7.0(2a)SU1 and just
trying to find cause of this issue and fix so it doesn't happen again
hopefully.

Does running the same IBM Firmware update CD (from the I4 issue) on
the 7816I3 help with this?
