[cisco-voip] CUCM 7.1.5(3) to 8.5 Upgrade

My specific raid driver problem was in 7.3 and tac kept saying so, but with 1 year under 7.3 and no issues, and then installing 8.5 I would get lockups and reboots on a least 1 server every 10 days. So I guess for me it was new, but for tac it was existing....?!? We did a "beta" fix with cisco and now it is fixed. Funny thing was we would only know a server was hung when we got an CDR error.

Mine was really nothing, just to have reboots and have phones re-registering at the whim of the servers.

Also I can't put my kids photos on my phone now :< bummer, but not a big issue, we don't let anyone put stuff on the phones anyway.

The million dollar question is what broke....now you better go back and get technical details or is this a Cliff Hanger ending? I can't think of something that worked in 7.1(3) that broke in 8.5(1)SU1....that wasn't broke already (eg Early Offer)

I know they had it working on 7.3.. and when they upgraded to 8.5 everything brook.

The issue with the SIP trunks is probably because prior to 8.6, CUCM did not support early offer. If you needed early offer support, you needed CUBE.

Mostly the problems have been SIP for my college, I will try to remember, I know they have a ton of special route groups to specific SIP trunks that failed to connect with 8.5 - Cisco told them that there fix was in 8.6 and they had to upgrade. There temp fix was to use cube routers, I think, and some other smaller problems.

We had a RAID driver issue that took 6 months to figure out what the issue was, several lock ups and reboots........Cisco said the problem existed since 7.1...

Just wondering which have been the biggies for the colleague? We are on
8.5 and pretty much problem free, though there have been some issues in the call center, some random mobility issues, and what I consider to be tiddly sftp compatibility/stability in the backups.
