[cisco-voip] WAN edge QoS

Hello,

I have a prety common requirement: protect voip traffic on a metro
access link with a given CIR.

Piece of cake ? Well, I guess that "by the book" this means to
make a parent policy with shapping @ CIR, and a child with priority
for voip. But testing shows that this does not work, as voip traffic
has to "traverse" the shape buffer, and you get jitter and drops when
data activates the shaper.

The other way, priority at the parent, does work but you either
reserve the voip capacity (i.e. shape @ CIR - prio) or you oversubscribe
when having voip + full data!

Am I missing something ? Is there any way to "shape adapt" to CIR
minus actual priority traffic ?

TIA,
-Carlos
