[cisco-voip] MGCP with CUCM 8.5

8.0 introduce support for MGCP version 1.0. There were minimum IOS
requirements to use MGCP 1.0 with UCM 8.0, but MGCP .1 should still
function.

I don't recall 15.x train being required for MGCP in 8.5... MGCP was
not supported in 8.x on 2900/3900 series gateways when they first came
out and you had to use h323 instead, until 15.1.1 (I think?). Is this
what you're referring to?

I do know I'm running 3845's right now on 12.4(20)T5, MGCP, and CUCM
8.0.3a. It stands to reason older gateways can run MGCP on the 8.x
train using pre-15.x code.

I'm pretty sure you'll run into problems. In order to support CM 8.5
and if you want to use your current hardware, you will most likely have
to move to H323 as I believe you have to be on a 15.xT train for
support, which these do not support.

If you are planning on also using them for SRST, I think it's time to
retire these GW's and buy something newer.

YMMV
