I just was pointed to this site for a 3rd party work around http://www.myvoipsource.org/open-source-tools/ip-phone-callforwarder/

If it hasn't been done by now I wouldn't hold your breath on it happening for any phone that came out before the 89/99xx series.

This has been requested for years on the 7900 series phones. Am I correct in assuming that this will never be implemented then on the 7900 series phones? I have done this on an 8961 and works great being able to have 5 line appearances and the ability to call-forward all on each of the lines from the phone. Looks like we need to upsell, huh?

Thanks,
Kevin

Keep in mind CUCM treats each line as separate from the device it lives on. You can't configure CFA on a device, you configure it on a line, and it will apply to all instances of that line. The capability on a device is called DND but you can't pick a dynamic DND destination.

As others have said, this is only capable from the CCMuser page as far as I know. Some later versions of CUCM have enabled this, but I believe only for some models (69xx,89xx,99xx).

At the root of the problem is that the 7900 series phones have not been programmed to reflect the current forwarding state of anything but the primary line, so even when you do forward non-primary lines, nothing on the phone tells you this is case.

There are some third party applications that you can buy which will allow the user to forward non-primary lines from the phone, but again, without the ability to reflect forwarding state, there are limited. Some of them have gone so far as to edit the line text label to include forwarding state, but this breaks other line text label settings.

Good luck.

Right now when I press the CFWDALL button, only the main line is forwarded. How can I change the default behavior to forward all the lines on a 7965 with CFWDALL?

Thank you

Neal Haas
