[cisco-voip] Unity Connection Cluster Backup of Subscriber

Hello,

We had had to work with TAC earlier this year to rebuild a Unity Connection Cluster that had a corrupted data base and the procedure was rebuild the Publisher and to restore the Connection Publisher from DRF and have the Subscriber restore via replication. The feed back I received from TAC was it was not necessary to back up the subscriber.

I think the assumption should be that the Pub has the primary status in the cluster and the Sub the secondary.

Hope this helps,

Steve

Hi Steven:

Did anyone ever get back to you on this question? I too am looking for confirmation of whether or not unity connection 8.x subscriber backups are required.

On a Unity Connection Cluster any reason to backup a Connection Subscriber in addition to the Publisher? If the sub fails you rebuild it and the Publisher replicates to it. If the pub fails you rebuild it and restore the Publisher DRS backup. Not sure I see a reason to back up the Subscriber.

Steve
