[cisco-voip] CallManager's 8.5 Intercom with PLAR

I handled the multiple people situation (more than buttons could handle) by setting up the users with single digit intercoms in an intercom partition, and instead of a single push speed dial, it’s a two button push (first intercom button, then button of person being reached). Could be setup so that the secretary does that, but not the managers.

We do 1:1 intercom with the intercom feature. Have since 6.1.

What we do is create the intercom PT/CSS for each location then assign an intercom number which could actually be their DN as well. Set the speed dial target appropriately for each side and it’s all set.

Our only issue is that for a secretary who supports multiple managers they have to have an intercom number/button for each manager.

Large customer has 40 office each with maybe a thousand people, the first office I setup Intercom they wanted a lot of 1-1 Intercom with PLAR, this meant a lot of CSS/PTs to support this.

Is there a better way for 1-1 plar paging with CallManager 8.5 ?

Can’t run multicast, wondering if I should be looking at SingleWire or something else, as I don’t see a workaround and wonder if we will hit a CSS/PT limitation with Intercom. This is also a large amount of programming/work.
