OK, I'll look through the callmanager traces. I didn't think to go to the phone's web page to see what the streaming targets were .

I have a suspicion that it's using the conference resources on the subscribers, but not sure why.

I'll lower the available conference resources and test again and let you know. thanks.

You'll need to dig in the ccm traces to see what was going on with that call. Did you happen to check the 7940's web page to see where it was streaming audio to?

OK, so I'm testing out my new conference resources on two 3945s. I've set up 4 profiles, two which handle 4 x 16 participants and 2 x 16 participants. I set up a new media resource group with these resources and assigned it to a new list and assigned this list to 12 new phones.

I tested 12 x 9 participant conference calls using voice mail ports and a call handler with a repeating greeting. Everything worked as expected. Saw appropriate IP addresses on the "show voip rtp connections" output on the two routers.

So this is where it gets funky. I wanted to see what a failed conference call would look like. I configured another phone with the same resource group list and initiated a conference call. It WORKED!

I could not find the call from this phone on either of the two routers -or- the old 6608 blades.

It's a 7940, so I can't imagine it was using an internal bridge. I thought that was only for a few calls.

What the heck?
