[cisco-voip] 6961 Phone

Well, with extension mobility you create a "profile" for each user and assign the directory number(s) they need to have access to. It is like a virtual phone. So when someone enters the room, they log in with their user ID and their pin and the phone displays their line settings (as if they were sitting in front of a dedicated phone) When they are done, they can simply log out and the next person can log in.

If you are using Unity Connection you can do exactly what you are describing, with Notifications Devices Unity Connection will call additional devices when a vm is received and will play it on the cell phone (or other phone of your choosing). I am not 100% if that is an additional licensing feature or not. We had CUWL licensing, so it did not pose an issue.

Cheers,
Mary

Interesting idea! So instead of them having to check the phone in the main room, their cell phone could notify them that they have a voicemail? DO I understand that correctly?

You could also configure the users for extension mobility, that would be a no cost solution.

I have a situation where we place a (currently) 7961 phone in a common room. Each person is assigned one of those lines, and when they come in they are expected to check the screen and see if they have voicemail.

Of course, we are now getting a 7th person!!

I was wondering if the 6961 could be a solution? Does the button assigned to a user change color designating voicemail? Will this phone work with UCM 8? I saw the SPA501G (8 lines), but unsure if it works with UCM or only Cisco's Small Business Pro Unified Communications 320??

Thank you in advance!

David
