[cisco-voip] SRSV on CUXN 9.1.1

The best part is pretty much all of the licenses issued form 9.0 where actually CUWL premium regardless of what was requested. Because that was the level that worked out for the 9.0 licenses changes that happened before FCS.

9.1 actually has the licenses that 9.0 went to market with, but didn't have the back end to support.

But you'd only really know about this if you had a 9.0 system, and most people don't.

Correct, and it's not that 9.0 UCM won't work with 9.1 ELM it's just that if UCM is requesting a license type that 9.1 ELM doesn't know about then ELM will throw an error.
Here's how it breaks down:
*ELM 9.1 will not support UCM 9.0 w/ Advanced or CUWL Prem
*ELM 9.0 will not support UCM 9.1 w/ Enhanced Plus

As long as we don't do any further licensing type changes between releases then this should be fine going forward.

I think (hope) this is more to do with the combination of licensing changes that have been made with 9.1 than anything else.

After reading the release notes, it seems you need to upgrade CUCM 9.0 to 9.1 before you can use ELM 9.1. I haven't checked out the compatibility matrix for ELM yet, but I'm sure hoping they build in an N-1 compatibility with ELM. If it's to be a true "enterprise" wide licensing solution, it's going to have to support different versions, I would argue it should be compatible with all previous versions (to a point) and not be as tightly controlled as the CUCM/UCCx compatibility.

I understand that it can be installed co-resident with the apps, but my goal is to install a standalone ELM server which will service my two CUCM clusters, three Unity Connection servers and in the future a UCCx HA pair.

Let's hope this is just a first crack issue and in the future it will resolve this.

Depending on your version the co-residency support policy will probably allow you to run it. I'm fairly certain since we are providing it you can count it as a UC app though.

I haven't found a way to navigate to the Informacast docs yet but if you search cisco.com<http://cisco.com/> for informacast you'll find the docs for it.

>From what I've seen CCX 9.0(2) will support UCM 9.1. I don't believe 9.0(1) will be certified but things may change.

I presume you still need to install this on a separate server, can this be deployed on a UCS C series co-located with other UC apps?

THANKS CISCO!!!

...now if you guys would be so kind as to certify ccm9.1.1 as compatible with ccx 9.0.1 everything will be much happier (for me at least)

I'm glad you all are itching to play with the new stuff over the holidays :)

Regarding 9.0 we have never posted a .0 release to cisco.com<http://cisco.com/> for download because of the fact that you need a new license to run the new major version and the only way to get the license is to order the upgrade. By putting the upgrade out there we'd get a bunch of people who upgrade and then complain that they don't have the license. With 9.1 the file will get posted because customers already on 9.0 can upgrade without having to get a new license.

it's posted now but when I try to download, it says I am not entitled. My
account is associated with a contract that has ordered 9.0.
