Actually not really. If you want TAC support you will run versions xyz. All manufacturer’s do it. How does apple maintain good supportability? Limit the options and choices.

I imagine they haven't tested because it all runs fine in my lab with ESXi 5

They'll have a hard time telling customers they have to use 4.1 eventually.
