It works on most other android phones. It’s just not supported by cisco. Depends on how important the users needing it are and the use cases.
I would get one or two and have them so that if you have issues you can prove it’s not the unsupported phones.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Jabber for Android - Comments regarding Android

I'm reviewing the Jabber for Android data sheet, in particular, the supported specs:

  * Samsung Galaxy S II (AT&T) running Android Version 2.2
  *   Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (model number GT-I9000) running Android Version 2.2.1 or 2.3
We're more than likely going to buy these devices off-contract (and unlocked if we're lucky) and I'm finding it difficult to find the Galaxy S II w/ v2.2.

What I can find is the Galaxy SII LTE w/ v2.3 and the Galazy SII 4G w/ 2.3.

I know I already know the answer to this, but I'm just wondering how strict the support specs are?

Are there any plans to include the newer Galazy SII models with v2.3?

Lelio

P.S. I will be sending this to my account team as well...
