7828 seems to always need 250G drives, But I am not sure if there ever was a 7828 that didn’t have 250G drives. I have an original 7828H3 BE running FCS 6.0 code still, it’s like 5 years old and it has 250G drives.

I was just getting ready to upgrade this box to 8.6.2, so I am interested in what you find out.

Can you point to any documentation on drive size? I can’t find anything in the release notes about upgrading them and they appear supported with the USB 128GB caveat.

Are the drives the right size?

Hello,

I’m having a hell of a time getting this upgrade to complete. Has anyone had any luck moving to 8.6.2 on the 7828H3? Here are the steps I’ve taken from following the release notes:

· Install upgrade COP (v1.1)

· Disable Extension Mobility service

· Provide an externally powered USB drive of at least 128GB

· Backup

I’ve tried the install twice now, it formats the USB drive, puts the config files and RPM’s onto the drive, kills the hardware RAID and reboots. When it reboots, the installation starts and then complains about not having enough space to create a partition with a generic error. If the server is rebooted (only option), it restarts with the following GRUB error:

GRUB loading, please wait…
Error 22

My TAC dealings have been frustrating so far as I feel I need to educate about the RU with each engineer I speak to. I’ve updated the firmware as a last ditch error, but that has not been fruitful either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

-ryan
