Subject: [cisco-voip] Unity Connection 9.1 License - Basic / Enhanced / CUWL

I'm trying to get some better feel for Unity Connection 9's licensing tiers. I've been through the wringer with a couple of vendors who are not up to snuff on the UC9 licensing, and wanted to see if I can get some better insight from someone who perhaps knows and is willing to share :) .

Based on the UC9.0 Licensing Overview sheet, there's "basic messaging" and then there's the ports for transcription. There's not really any good information about the differences between the various tiers. But, ELM has revealed some interesting other thoughts and options. It looks like the CUWL users get Video Messaging, which isn't a feature that's available at this time but based on some sleuthing was targeted for later this year. There's some reference to SpeechConnect ports, and having to order them, and yet, Unity Connection 9.1 itself has not mentioned that need in any way, and the Text-To-Speech seems to work just fine, so I'm not getting what the point of those are. I'm seeing an Enhanced user tier for messaging, that I can't find anything out about, other than it's about $25 more per user , on list.

Am I missing a UC 9.1 licensing primer somewhere? I do know I need to find a partner/account person who will cough it up, but, what I'm getting is that many of them are not on the bleeding edge, and we're into dark territory. I just figured I would ask before I did something dumb or missed out on something vital.

Thanks,
