I've never received had them RMA me media, but I think that is because I am always on ESs, and I don't think there is physical media for those.

As said, TAC can RMA you bootable media for any version that isn't in PUT and if you need it faster than the RMA will get it to you then it can be posted.
TAC shouldn't be posting any bootable media without doing an RMA so if you want an extra copy of the "real" DVD ask for it.

Either I ask my Cisco AM/SE for 6.1.3 media, or else I'm forced to upgrade to 6.1.3b to add another subscriber and/or migrations.

Appreciate the response but the 'well traveled path' of PUT provided me with a 6.1(3b) installation disk which is two versions higher than my customer's CUCM 6.1.3.
Making non-bootable patches 'bootable' in the field has been an effective way of quickly restoring/building a customer's server whilst under pressure to deliver within timescales and thereby reducing cost which in the current climate is an absolute necessity. It's frustrating that partners don't have access to the tools they need.
Now back on topic has anybody had any experience of installing CUCM remotely via an iLO port? :)

I've not really ever had a hard time getting a specific version of CM from TAC, even bootable versions. If you have a valid need (and I suppose valid support contract) they will publish it for you, pretty quickly too.
Sometimes TAC doesn't know they can do that for you, so you tell them it's been done for you before, maybe reference a previous case number, then they go ask their buddies and it gets published.

To his credit, it is sometimes hard to find specific bootable versions of old software. For example, if he orders 6.1 from PUT he will probably get 6.1.5. If you order 9 on PUT, you will get 9.1. If you had a customer on 9.0, you would either have to find a partner, cisco se, or try to get it from TAC.

Or you could just order the bootable media via PUT.
take the reverse engineering/workaround/hacking time and invest in other deliverables
and then follow a supported and well traveled path.

Hi,
Does anybody know if it's possible to install CUCM via the virtual drive of the iLO port on a HP MCS server?
I have to carry out a Publisher rebuild and bridge upgrade from 6.1.3 to 8.6(2a)SU2.
As I've been unable to make the CCO 'non-bootable' 6.1.3 ISO bootable I've had to resort to building from a 6.0(1)a installation DVD. This means that my upgrade path is 5 steps long. I also need to rinse and repeat this exercise at a later date to get a fresh CUCM 8.6 DRS backup file.
Any tips on installing via the virtual drive on an iLO would be useful. It seems to work for the pre-configuration tasks within the CUCM install but then I hit a Redhat Linux OS install GUI shortly after it reboots.
Thanks
