Jose,
I'll admit I don't know that much about faxing. I just always use T.38 end-to-end. If the carrier can't guarantee T.38 end to end then you have to start looking into other methods such as passthrough which aren't always reliable. Hopefully someone else with a lot of SIP Faxing experience can chime in.

Not sure Brian. Will it typically depends on if the numbers ends within the same carrier or if they route the call to another carrier or ITSP? I've asked them if they can give me where that phone call ends. Still waiting for an answer :(
Does Cisco have a supported end to end recipe for it to work(ie. CUBE config, device phone page in the cucm parameters, ecm settings on it, etc...)? I haven't found one for my scenario yet. I've found some for PRI's, MGCP, but none SIP to SIP end to end.
Thx.

Jose,
Does your ITSP guarantee T38 to all numbers? I know most ITSPs can't do this and only can do T.38 to some numbers.

Hi all. Does anyone have found a recipe for running faxes through ATA 187 when using SIP all the way? The scenario is as follows:
ATA 187 - CUCM - CUBE - ITSP. The entire path is SIP up to the SP. We have tried all possible combinations from turning ECM off, reduce speed to 14,400 both of them in the fax machine, T.38, NSE g711 passthrough, passthrough both in the cube and in the CUCM, etc ... and fail to achieve the exact recipe for all outbound faxes work. some destination phone numbers work and other particular numbers do not work. All inbound faxes work well. The fax machines are a multifunctional Ricoh MP4000 and worked previously with the carrier using POTS. please help!
