I had a fairly bad experience moving fax away from TDM. While it would work 95% of the time, fax is still such a critical part of customer communication that we removed the SIP solution and stuck with PRIs. Even if the vendor promises PRI handoff from a SIP source, you'll still potentially have issues.
Regarding a fax server, I've been using Sagecom Xmedius fax for almost 10 years and have a very high opinion of it. The AD integration is top notch.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Fax Server Recommendations
Does anyone have recommendations about a good fax server solution that can be implement using SIP trunks? Or are there any that we should stay away from based off personal experience?
We are in the beginning stages of exploring a fax solution and I was just looking for any suggestions.
FYI: We are running CUCM (8.6.2a) and currently we are using VG's for our faxes today.
Thanks
