No, you want to increase the serving count. That parameter determines how many concurrent TFTP requests the server will handle. For a dedicated TFTP server make this as big as you can.

Build CNF files is only needed if you have really old phone loads that don't ask for cnf.xml files. If you do have users on those phones go make a new friend by replacing their phone.
The caching parameter is another one that hasn't had to be messed with for quite some time. I wouldn't recommend touching either of those.

Thanks Ryan.

But don't you mean "bring down" the serving count in TFTP server parameter?

Also, could I modify the "Build CNF Files" (say, from Build Selective to Build None) or "Enable Caching of Constant and Bin Files at Startup" (say, to False) if I run into problems?

If the server's memory is supported for the version of UCM you are running on it then you are fine. Just be sure to bump up the serving count in TFTP service parameters.

We are trying to come up with a strategy for our v7 to v9 upgrades. One of the steps involved is temporarily replacing our TFTP server with an older 7845H-3.0. It only has 4GB of memory, which should be sufficient. But I'm just wondering what gotchas we might run into? I know that all configuration files are stored in memory, do we run the chance of running out of memory?

Thoughts?
