[cisco-voip] UCS Mini with UC

I agree with Brian. Our support requirements for UC on UCS don't go that far down into the connectivity between blades/chassis. You still need a B or C-series UCS even with this piece of hardware.

I don't see any issues using this for UC. It's running the same blades. Just simplifies the network/storage connectivity.

correct. heard about it from Account team about 4 months ago. but as we are going into budget and moving from servers to VM's thought it might be a good option.

It's being referred to as "UCS Mini". I don't know of any reason it wouldn't be supported as a voice platform. It should at least work for a specs-based approach.

Are you talking about the UCS express? I'd like to be able to get a couple of those in my ISR-G2s and use those instead of SRST.

However, it comes back to, and this is something new that I heard about only at Cisco Live this year, that the design guide says all your subscribers should be the same size.

That being said, apparently they are considering supporting it.

I know that the UCS mini is VERY New but has anyone put any cycles into thinking about it as a UC platform.

For those EDU's / Agencies / etc that have Voice verse server teams, it looks like a good possibility thou it does remind me of a ICS 7750 ;-(

Thanks

Scott
