I received this from Cisco TAC regarding upgrading CUCM 8.5 and below to CUCM 10.5:

Hello, Hiroshi:

Please take a look at the following bug information:
https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCus62385

You cannot upgrade from 8.5.x to 10.5.x directly, you would need to do a jump upgrade first to 8.6.x before going to 10.5.x

Anyone successfully upgraded CUCM 8.5 to 10.5?
Getting an error “Upgrades are prohibited during Licensing Grace Period” even after installing COP file 1.5.
Am migrating the CUCM 8.5 to UCS and upgrade it to version 10.5 using the below procedure;

1.      Install the same version running on MCS on the UCS server

2.      Install ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.5.cop.sgn on the virtualized CUCM 8.5

3.      Restore DRS backup

4.      Upgrade to CUCM version 10.5 – This process is failing and I get the below error;

Upgrades are prohibited during Licensing Grace Period
