[cisco-voip] Cisco TCS without VCS

I Have a scenario created as follows:
Cisco CUCM
Cisco IM & P
EXP- C
EXP -E
MCU 5520
Cisco TMS
Cisco TCS Content Server

All part of CUCM, IM & P, MCU and TMS this set up and working. So come
reading of TCS documentation will need a VCS to register it as
end point, but I do not have one in my scenario. Can anyone tell me if the
same in version 6.1 of TCS using the VCS is mandatory? Is there any other
form of register it as end point?
