this is great. thanks.

something that i hope will come soon is a USB/bluetooth/<proprietary.dock> cradle for phones and/or tablets and/or ipods.

i'd love to be able to replace a phone with an ipod for instance, along with a cradle with the necessary buttons to answer calls and dial numbers.

this article from 2012 has what i'm looking for, but it doesn't seem to have been updated. nothing really out there.

FWIW, in general, the big idea Cisco has with these certified accessories is that they work without any driver or software package install, and the buttons on the devices will natively interact with jabber (call, volume, mute buttons, etc) I know that Jabra has their own software suite to compliment the Bluetooth ones, but it’s not necessary to use, but can add some extra features. I personally had a Jabra evolve 65 at my old position that was an excellent piece, incredible battery life and audio fidelity, and people couldn’t even hear the audio of an open car window next to me.

I believe there is a line of “Cisco UC Certified” headsets from most manufacters. I know Jabra has a large line, and I believe Plantronics and Sennheiser also have some, and Logitech as well iirc. I’ll have to see if I can’t dig up a link for you.

Looking into the planning guide, where it talks about all the hardware requirements, I do not see anything about supported USB and/or blue tooth headsets for the Windows/Mac Jabber client.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/jabber/11_8/cjab_b_planning-guide-jabber-118.html

What am I missing here? When you search for bluetooth, you get only the sections for iphone and android.

I need to make sure that before someone spends $ on their devices, we're gonna get support.

Do I trust the headset manufacturer? Rely on their warranty/guarantee?

Lelio
