[cisco-voip] UCS move VMs to new server

You can always turn up a vCenter trial. You would need some type of shared storage. Many consumer grade NAS boxes will support NFS or iSCSI which will do the trick. I have never tried the cold move without vCenter.

I believe cold moves are also available without vCentre. But rather than moving from one UCS to another, you have to move from UCS to a PC then to the other UCS.

We're looking at BE7K servers without the vCentre compatible ESXi software for at least the next year. Gonna see if we can manage without vCentre for a while.

Do you have vCenter?

If you have vCenter, I would do cold migrations. Shut down the VM and then migrate it to the new host, then power it back on.

Hello group

We have to replace some of our old UCS C210-M2 server to new UCS 240-M4.
On the old server are 2 UCM (10.5.2) and 1 CUIC (10.5.1) VM installed.
What are your experiences and recommondations to move the VMs with the least effort and impact to the new UCS servers?

Thanks for feedback
Regards Reto
