[cisco-voip] changing OVA sizing

My favorite migration/upgrade/virtualization path is PCD. It’s a really nice tool once you get past it’s quirkiness. Probably won’t work for you because you don’t like upgrading :(

>From what I understand you’ve got 2 options. The first is install the smaller OVA, and manually adjust vDisk sizes before installing IM&P. I don’t know for sure this won’t screw your disk alignment so test it in the lab first.

The other is install the bigger ova, then change the vCPUs down to match the smaller one.

Lastly, you can always manually export your contact lists them import them. This would let you do the migration without DRS involved at all. I believe you’d just need to manually recreate your service profiles and re-sign any certs.

that must be it.

too bad there's no way to plan around that.

i'm now wasting two CPU cores. :(

i will likely rebuild without DRS at some point in the future.

I believe there is a bug that says if you had two disks before the DRS you have to have two after.

I migrated an IM&P v9 cluster from physical to virutal and ran into an error on the DRS restore saying there was not enough space on the hard drive.

We were moving from a 7845-H2 HP/SWONLY equivalent hardware setup, which we are suspecting is considered a 5000 user platform.

We were hoping to move to a 2000 user platform to save on CPUs.

Any way to move to a smaller OVA using DRS?

Curious.
