[cisco-voip] CME-SRST question

The only reason you would need CUCME tar files, is if the router is functioning AS CUCME and you want the GUI of CUCME.

The .tar CUCME files are for CUCME GUI. The telephony code of CUCME comes baked into the firmware code of the platform (show telephony-service). CUCME isn't the same thing as SRST.

In your initial email, you indicated that you have a centralized CUCM and the branch routers needed to support SRST for the SCCP and SIP protocols when CUCM becomes unreachable.

Under your voice register global, you have it configured for CME .... you'll need to no that if you want to use it for SIP SRST.

Also, you should add an ntp server server reference in the voice register global and you'll want a timezone reference (just use a ? context helper on the command to list all the reference options).

Now once the sip phones go in SRST, depending on your network and interface layout, you may need to add a source-address reference in voice register global IF, you experience 1-way audio on the phone.

Also, while it isn't required for SIP SRST; I usually configure the IP address trusted list (even at the branches) under the voice service voip (especially branches where the CUBE has an public Internet facing interface).

Thanks,

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Please find needed info in the attached file, also find the output of debug ccsip messages while a SIP phone tries to register (or it should be trying) to the CME-SRST, (phone IP: 10.90.11.54, Router interface IP: 10.90.241.100)

Another question, do I have to have all the CME tar file contents extracted to the router flash just for the CME-SRST functionality to work ?

Also if anyone have a working configurations for CME-SRST or even SRST with SIP phones, please share.

Many thanks

Can you send us the output of:

- # sh run | sec voice service voip|voice register|dial-peer voice|tftp-server

-# dir

Additional questions:

- What is the model of SIP phone?
- What CUBE hardware platform?
- What IOS / IOS-XE code version?
Thanks,

Ryan

Dear Gents,

I have a setup of CUCM 10.5 in a central site with a router in a branch site, phones in branch are registered with the central site CUCM and in case of WAN failure the branch site router should handle the branch phones till the WAN is up again, I have configured the branch router with CME-SRST configurations which is working fine with SCCP phones and all tests were successfully during WAN outage, my issue it with branch SIP phone which are not able to register to the CME-SRST router during WAN outage despite I have followed many configurations scenarios for SIP phones including global register configurations.

So does anyone have a working scenario configurations for CME-SRST (not unified SRST) working with SIP phones.
