[cisco-voip] jabber click to call

I'm a bit confused by the click to call features with Jabber and the parameter click2x.
I'm pretty sure there was once a time where installing Jabber would allow you to highlight a telephone number or a number was highlighted automatically and you could click and call it with jabber.
Not just those that are highlighted/hyperlinked with tel: protocol.
Am I imagining things?
