Have you not found that the "Last Successful Backup: 0 day(s) ago" on the
home page is accurate? It has saved our asses at least twice - where there
was some problem with the sftp server DRS was backing up to. When this
happened, a giant alert came up. But, I don't know if that happens in the
case of a hang... I would think it would, since that wouldn't count as a
"Successful Backup"... surely...
