<BODY bgColor=#ffffff>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I'll admit, it can get complicated, but as far as I
know, it's the only way to preserve the calling restrictions put in place on the
system. Since t</FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>here is no way to force a
translation pattern to take on the calling search space of the originating
caller, you need to use seperate translations, each one reflecting the calling
search space of the original calling party. If you know of a better (or easier)
way, please let me know.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Let's take this example: </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Courier size=2><STRONG>Partitions:</STRONG> Group_A_PT,
Group_B_PT, Group_C_PT</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Courier size=2><STRONG>CSS
:</STRONG> CSS_A={Group_A_PT, Group_C_PT} and CSS_B={Group_B_PT}</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Courier size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Courier size=2><STRONG>Directory No:</STRONG> 5001 in Group_A_PT
w/ CSS_A</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Courier size=2><STRONG>Directory No:</STRONG> 5002 in Group_B_PT
w/ CSS_B</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Courier size=2><STRONG>Directory No:</STRONG> 5003 in Group_C_PT
w/ CSS_B</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>If I want to restrict calling ID presentation for
both 5001 and 5002, they have to be able to dial a translation pattern which
resets this. For example, 5XXX w/ calling party presentation restricted. The
transformed digits are left empty.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>If I create just one translation pattern that all
phones use, then the translation pattern calling search space must include
Group_C_PT so that 5001 can call 5003. By doing so, if 5002 dials 5003, the call
goes through. I need to prevent 5002 from dialing 5003.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>In order to do that:</FONT></DIV>
<UL>
<LI><FONT face=Arial size=2>I create two new calling search spaces,
CSS_A_FromPriv={FromPriv_A_PT} and
CSS_B_FromPriv={FromPriv_B_PT}. </FONT></LI>
<LI><FONT face=Arial size=2>I create two translations:</FONT></LI>
<UL>
<LI><FONT face=Arial size=2> 5XXX w/ restricted party presentation and
CSS of CSS_A in FromPriv_A_PT</FONT></LI>
<LI><FONT face=Arial size=2> 5XXX w/ restricted party presentation and
CSS of CSS_B in FromPriv_B_PT</FONT></LI></UL>
<LI><FONT face=Arial size=2>I assign 5001 CSS_A_FromPriv and assign 5002
CSS_B_FromPriv</FONT></LI></UL>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Now, calls from 5001 and 5002 appear as 'From
Private' and calling restriction is preserved - 5001 can call 5003 and 5002 can
not.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I'm hoping 4.1 implements calling restriction in a
better way.</FONT></DIV>
