Is it possible to run an H323 config and a MGCP config on the same gateway?

In theory i would think it possible, but never have attempted it.

Would that be as simple as adding another gateway in callmanager of h323 type with the ip address the same as the already defined mgcp gateway? New route patterns in CM that point to the h323 gateway. Then adding the appropriate non mgcpapp dialpeers for dialout ( 9T ) and one for the t38 redirect to the fax server? Something like this?

To all your gateway gurus...

Brooktrout t38 Fax Board w/ RightFax to Cisco Call Manager (4.1)

Has anyone done one of these?

Im in a situation where my customer is wanting to implement this. However
all Brooktrout has to offer in the way of support is whitepaper with a
sample configuration for an h323 gateway.

http://www.brooktrout.com/support/productinfo.cfm?frmProduct=TR1034&frmCateg

ory=Knowledgebase&frmKnowBaseID=2023&Level=2

My customer setup is MGCP so i'm a bit puzzled on how to accomplish this.

What we are wanting to do is take a few DID's and forward calls coming in on
them to the fax server.

Rightfax and Brooktrout tell me that I need to point the fax calls to the IP
address of the fax server with something similar to this:

==============
voice service voip
fax protocol t38 ls-redundancy 0 hs-redundancy 0 fallback none
sip

voice class codec 1
codec preference 1 g711ulaw

dial-peer voice 78197214 voip
description Used to receive a fax comming in the T1 ISDN line, which is
781-972-1400 (DNIS = 1400 - 1499)
destination-pattern 14..
thing?

Also, the mgcp fax t38 inhibit I would imagine need to be turned off, but
this is what makes my analog fax relay to my ata188's work...

--
Nick Marus
nmarus@gmail.com
