I see two bugs responsible for that OS hotfix. CSCeh01053
and
CSCee30744.

Note that CRS 3.5(4) includes this hotfix as part
of the installation.

Below is the release-note for the bug and includes
the changes made by
the OS hotfix.

Symptoms
The symptoms can
include but may not be limited to the following:

1) No access to the
AppAdmin page
2) No access to the CCMAdmin page
3) Failed services
4)
Errors in the event log

Condition
The combination of these new
services when running these applications
co-resident
on the same server
exceed the Heap size required to run all services
concurrently.

Workaround
Edit the registry to reduce the
required memory per
service.

HKLM/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Session
Manager/SubSystems/Windows

This is usually a long string, where one
value is
SharedSection=1024,3072,512 .
The third value in this is the
heap size in KB (i.e 512KB) allocated
per non-interactive service.
The
heap size can be decrease to allow more services to run.
The recomended
changes is to reduce the 512KB value to 384KB. (i.e
SharedSection=1024,3072,384)

-Ryan
\
On May 6, 2005, at 2:45
