hardware is (as long as the installer recognizes it as an MCS) if you have
a 7835 now, you run with that, when you move to the 45, you would use the bars
utility to backup your CCM configuration, then load the 45 (Using the recovery
mode) and restore the config, the installer would see it as a 45 and install
advanced server, then when you restore the config you are up and running...As
far as I know it doesn't care what OS you have...</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

[cisco-voip] Upgrading 7835 to 7845 - what options do I
have?<BR><BR></FONT></DIV>
<DIV>I'm sorry if I asked this before, but I'm just wondering what upgrade
options I might have if I buy a 7835 now and want to upgrade it to match 7845
specs in the future? </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>From what I gather the two systems are exactly the same except for
memory, extra CPU and extra hard disk space. I'd probably buy a spare CPU off
the bat since it would be hard to match later.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>If I upgrade at a later time, will the hardware detection disks recognize
it as a 7845 and format the disks and install the image appropriately or will
it sill think it's a 7835? If it only recognizes it as a 7835 is there
something I can switch (software/hardware) to make it be recognized as a
7845?</DIV>
