have had discussions with Cisco and have not found a reason or solution.
What's strange is I can receive calls but can't make calls or get a dial tone
and the gateway recognizes when I go off hook or on hook. To clear it I
have to telnet to the VG248 and do a restart, this takes care of the problem
until the next time which happens about every 5-6 weeks randomly with
different phones. </FONT></SPAN></DIV>

disabling the port and re-enabling. The Fax machine connected to it is on
