This just started with us in 8.0(3). We were running 8.0(1) and I
tough to say because I know that 8.0(2) and 8.0(3) were released close
to each other so I am trying to remember if I ever reset the phones to
upgrade from 8.0(1).

I am also trying to discern if the problem started before or after the
OS4.2sr7 upgrade.
I am going to reset all of the phones back to 8.0(2) over the weekend.
I will get back to everyone.
I have the same intermittent one way audio. When the issue started over
a
year ago, we were running some version of 6 and upgraded to 7-2-3 on
our
7940s and 7960s. The upgrade did nothing to correct the issue. Our 7935s
recently began doing this as well. My biggest challenge is capturing or
even trying to recreate the issue. Have you had any luck in capturing a
trace when this was happening and if so, did Cisco TAC recognize
anything
unusual?
We are hitting the same problem following the upgrade from firmware
7-2-3
to 8-0-2 after upgrading to 4-1-3sr2. The problem is
intermittent. We
have now downgraded some of our phones back to 7-2-3 to see if it is the
firmware. We are also on a single subnet and did not have this
problem
prior to the upgrade.
As stipulated below, phones are on the same logical VLAN so no routing
is
taking place other then call setup and teardown to the Call Managers.
Additionally, I know that it has nothing to do with the CSS because if
this
was the issue the call would not be connected in the first place and
users
would hear fast busy.

This problem started specifically with the 8.0(3) phone load. The
only
other change that as been made has been the OS2.4sr7 patch, which I find
unlikely to be causing this problem.
Sounds like a classic partition/CSS issue to me. I would check to make
sure
that phone A and phone B have each others partitions in their CSS.
Sounds
to me like B does and A doesn't. Could also be a routing issue.
Has anyone run into a One Way Audio issue with phone load 8.0(3) on a
7960?
I had piloted the phone load with about 20 phones and didn't hear of any
reported problems. Now after I have pushed the load to around 200+
phones
I have users calling into the helpdesk reporting problems under the
following circumstances. Please note that the calls are internal and
on
the same LAN (even logical VLAN).

1) User
A calls User B

2) User
B can hear User A talking, however User A cannot
hear
User B.

3) User
A hangs up and calls User B again and there are no
issues.

I haven't had any issues to date with the older, 8.0(2) (or earlier)
phone
loads. I am thinking that I am going to roll everyone back, but I
wanted
to see if anyone is having the issue while also warning people of the
problem.
