VPN connection then yes, IP Communicator users (as well as hard phone users)
can talk to each other without any problems. There are a few things to
consider when using VPN for voice. Specifically, what your endpoint device is
that you will be using to connect. VPN Concentrators such as the Cisco 3030 do
not offer any QoS (and none is roadmapped), so your packets are all going to be
handled in a first come first serve basis. This could affect voice quality.
If you utilize an IOS device such as a Cisco ISR, you can implement QoS which
can improve the overall user experience. If you were to push out Cisco 830/870
series routers to your end users, you could utilize DMVPN so that users could
create peer-to-peer tunnels that are dynamically created when user A calls user
B, rather then going through the main site.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
