sources and it appears that they have 4 codecs per file - ULAW, ALAW, G.729
and WB. I guess that's 32 streams if I followed what you said correctly.

via two paths in case you have SRST and non SRST remote sites. This
could be accomplished by using same IP address per stream and different
port numbers. I am thinking maybe this could be another solution
for playing 2 files to a location. One from the gateway and one from
the CM via Multicast MOH.</font>

<br><font size=2><tt>Remember that when you configure a multicast MOH audio
source you get <br>
one RTP stream per codec enabled. So if you have enabled g729, etc
<br>
MOH this can quickly lead to a lot of multicast traffic when you've <br>
got multiple audio sources enabled for multicast.<br>
<br>
The reason you can only have one source for SRST MMOH is because the <br>
router can only play the audio on one multicast IP address/port. In
<br>
order for the phone to receive it CM has to tell the phone to listen <br>
for that particular source.<br>
<br>
I haven't played with SRST MMOH in a while so I don't know if the <br>
router can play two sources or not. The way you describe would <br>
certainly work but if you happen to have another router at the remote <br>
site you could just as easily configure it to source the other MMOH <br>
stream.<br>

I am trying to cleanup an inherited MOH Multicast Configuration.<br>
<br>
They have 2 out 3 servers enabled for Multicast. (MOH Server config
<br>
page) They also have entered hop counts for 8 different audio sources <br>
for BOTH servers.<br>
<br>
The Cisco documentaion states:<br>
<br>
"For Cisco SRST multicast MOH, only one audio source can be used,
<br>
even if, for example, one out of 500 sites uses Cisco SRST multicast <br>
MOH."<br>
Another section of the doc states "An audio source is selected by
<br>
inputting the audio source's maximum number of hops."<br>
<br>
I interpret this to mean that on the MOH Servers configuration screen <br>
that there should only be one multicast audio source with a hop count <br>
entered. I also interpret this to mean that there is no reason to
<br>
have 8 audio sources configured for multicast when the server can <br>
only be used with one source.<br>
<br>
Can anyone confirm what I have stated above?<br>
<br>
<br>
On a related note: Is there anyway to have a remote office play 2
<br>
different MOH files for different sets of phones? Our WAN does not
<br>
support multicast at this time so I am thinking SRST local streaming <br>
for the biggest group of users at the remote site and unicast from <br>
Call Mgr for the other users.<br>
<br>
Anyone who has done a lot of work with this stuff please comment.<br>
<br>
Thanks,<br>
