4.3, etc. not that I have moved off 4.3 but it's the nature of the
If you are planning to move to CM 5 you don't want to move to 4.2 as
there is no path to 5.x from there. Move to 4.1.3 if you plan to
upgrade to 5.

Unity you just need the windows update and you also need to upgrade the
Java... at least on 4.0.5. I don't know for 4.1 for sure.

Phone load: my guess it's for someone who has not upgraded to the
8.2
firmware but needs the patch.
I for one like the extra day light after I go home...... but I'm really
going to be cranked if they move it back next year as this is only a
Subject: [cisco-voip] Upgrade / DST Advice

I hate to beat a dead horse, so please accept my apology in
advance. In
going over the DST issues and trying to plan our strategy, a couple of
questions popped up. First let me give the version of what we are
running:

Call Manager
4.1(2)es40
OS - 2000.4.2sr12

Unity
4.1(1)
Windows 2000 SP4
TSP Version : 8.0(2)
CSA Agent Version: 4.0.3.728
SQL Version: SQL 2000 - 8.00.760 (SP4 I think)

Phones
Mostly 7970G with a few 7960s.
--------------------------------------------------------

In planning our DST upgrades, I see I need to upgrade the OS on the CM
boxes to either 200.4.2sr15, 2000.4.3aSR8 or 2000.4.4asr3a. My
question
is, why would I upgrade to the newest release (4.4) instead of 4.2 or
4.3 ?

For Call Manager itself, the upgrade doc states I need to upgrade to
either 4.1(3) or 4.2(3). Again, why *wouldn't* I not upgrade to 4.2
?

For Unity, I think I need to upgrade to 4.2 and then do the normal
Microsoft upgrades and patches for a Win2k server. This seems too
easy,
but you never know.

For the phones, I understand the 7960 units get their time from the CM
server, so that's ok. For the 7970s, I have a few users running the
8.2.1 firmware over the last month and it seems fine. Today I see
Cisco
released 8.0.4sr3a. Once again, why would someone upgrade to 8.0.4
when
8.2.1 has been released for a while (when the CM is 4.x) ?

Curse Congress for making this change. Most non-IT folks don't even
know about the change, let alone the hassles the IT community is going
through. ARGH....

Thanks in advance for any help.
