Actually, you don't need anything from Cisco, you don't even need to contact Cisco in any way.

Just go to system, licensing, upload license file on your newly upgraded CCM 5.1 box, you will see a license file in there... click 'view license' and copy that info to notepad.

Now go to OS platform and go to network and get the MAC address.

Go here: https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/Licensing/PrivateRegistrationServlet?FormId=806
and enter the MAC address and paste the info from notepad, fill in the form.

You should have your real license in about 4 minutes.

Jonathan

On 5/2/07,

hi Ahmed,

When you upgrade, callmanager will generate a temporary license for all the devices you have configured from 4.1. If I understand correctly, you just have to send that off to cisco's licensing group and have it converted to a real
5.2 license with the appropriate number of DLUs. If its anything like Unity licensing, the turn-around is pretty quick. I'm assuming you need a SASU agreement for callmanager for them to do it.

We are getting ready to do the same process here this summer with our
4.1 system.

Hope that helps.

Ed

On 5/2/07, Ahmed Elnagar <
