My debug isdn q931 started showing me sending disconnections
due to ‘resources not available” when I call from my 7960 phone to
PSTN. I have a 2811 with 2 PRIs to PSTN and 300 7940 phones.

It started after I wanted to add 60 numbers on a Castelle
Fax Press T1 PRI (MGCP). I added Route Patterns in CCMAdmin pointing to the
Castelle as these are mostly inbound faxes to the Castelle Fax Press.

I didn’t want to add 60 individual dial peers, so I
put it global. I thought it listened to each call for fax/modem tones and didn’t
invoke any modem passthrough resources unless needed. How many modem
passthroughs can a 2811 handle?

I understood since I have CCM/MGCP I must use modem
passthrough versus fax passthrough.

the administrator has no IOS experience.
