<div>Todd,</div>
<div> </div>
<div>For starters, CCM v4 doesn't have DSS/BLF, it only has shared lines. Therefore, one of the downfalls for your particular situation is that the Admin can unintentionally answer calls for Jim. However, if you haven't done so already, you can disable 'Auto Line Select' (I believe you can do this globally in CCM Service Parameters and at the phone device level). By disabling 'Auto Line Select', the admin has to physically press the 2nd line button to answer an incoming call on 1690. If 'Auto Line Select' is enabled and the Admin goes off hook to place a call while an incoming call is ringing her 2nd Line appearance (x1690), it will instead answer the 2nd line appearance instead of giving the Admin a dialtone. Another option would be to setup Attendant Console on the Admin's PC to monitor Jim's line.
</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I'm not quite sure why it is ringing the Admin's 2nd line appearance since you configured it to flash only.<br></div>
<div> </div>
<div>HTH,</div>

<div>I have a user, Jim, and his main extension is 1690. He has a 'private line' with DID, and since our DIDs begin with 474, he's got a 474-8123. So on his phone, a 7940, I just have his main ext, 1690. And if someone rings 474-8123, I merely forward it to 1690. Pretty straightforwarsd so far, yes?
</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Well, his admin wants to be able to know if he's on the phone or not. So I set up one of her lines (she has a 7960) with the 1690 extension. And in CCM (v4) I set the Ring Setting (Idle) to Flash only and the Ring Setting (Active) to Beep Only. I have setup 3 other extensions this way so she can tell who's on a call and who isn't.
</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Anyways, when someone rings 474-8123, it is also ringing at her phone (the Caller ID info shows up, and the MsgWaiting light flashes). She can also take the call, something I didn't want her to do.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Any ideas??</div>
